maedchenwald is an Austrian company, founded in the year 2007 by the designer Anna Bogner and works exclusevily with cotton from controlled biological cultivation. Besides that all the clothing items are manufactured in Austria and Hungary. By the initiation of car pools with associated companies the way of transportation could be reduced. The needed fittings like press-buttons, buttons and sewing thread come from Austria and Germany and are 100% nickelfree. maedchenwald is co-initiator of the Ecotrend, the 1st Austrian ecotextile fair and is partner of the association Organicdesign. Anna Bogner is designer and illustrator and was born 1976 in Marburg/Lahn. She studied studied Art painting in Vienna and Prague, until she found her home in fashion. After finishing the fashion college in Vienna she worked as a designer for several companies in Germany and Austria and was a member of the fashion group "Wien Couture". She started her own business 2007 with the label maedchenwald. The alone educating mother of a son lives and works in Vienna. |
